Eternal
Information
winter, year 3
The Ice Age is over.

Thick ice and continuously falling snow blanket the entirety of Eternal, brought upon by Noc's wrath. Shelter is scarce, and food even scarcer. There is no climate or biome that was lucky enough to find themselves safe from the beginnings of the Ice Age and so the residents of Eternal must don their primal survival instincts and to just that ─ survive. Ice blockages have grown supernaturally between the islands, blocking Sunsteppe from Sol and Eventide from Noc, effectively trapping each islander on whichever island they currently stand. The Dragonfrost and dusk leopards from Gleamleaf and greater boreus deer from Mountainfade have seeped into all of Noc, Eventide's spectors and Sunsteppe's sculptors have overrun the central island, and the wolves, Ice Piskys, and Creeping Thistle have invaded all of Sol.
OOC announcements
12.6.18 Please welcome our newest moderators, Sparkie and Liv! Be sure to check out the new rule revisions.

10.12.18 Noc has descended from the stars, and the reunion with his children, the three deities, is anything but happy. The whole of Eternal has been plunged into an Ice Age, and it seems that, for now, it's up to the deities to restore the islands. Will they be able to do so quickly enough? Or will the residents of Eternal know suffering because of the mishaps spread between Helios, Imbris, and Aya? For now, ice blockages have been erected between the islands, meaning that everyone is stuck where they currently are. Where is your character? Tell us here.

10.4.18 What?! An October raffle?!?!

IC announcements
12.6.18 The Ice Age is over, and the deities Helios, Aya and Imbris have been stripped of their powers - as the ice begins to recede, an explosion of stardust and cosmic matter descends from the vast and starlit sky, and with it, new magic ..

10.4.18 Whatever unknown thing that invaded the southern territories in the middle of spring has snaked its icy fingers out and enveloped those remaining territories that everyone had believed (or hoped) to be safe. Wolves, Creeping Thistle, Pesky Piskys, Blackrock's river... Not even Sunsteppe is safe from the intrusion, though it appears -- at least for now -- that the Wreckage remains untouched. Perhaps it should be investigated?

9.17.18 Something isn't right. Eternal still refuses to warm, even as we progress through spring and near summer. The southernmost territories have begun to notice some changes: from Greater Boreus Deer in Mountainfade, to Dragonfrost in Gleamleaf; frozen sandstorms in Astraldune, and even icy wraiths in Eventide. What happened? And what can be done to return the islands to normal?

9.2.18 Springtime has come, but the frigid winter still remains, enveloping the three islands in ice, snow and brutal wind. There are no flowers, nor grass - no foliage at all. The animals are beginning to suffer, as they emerge from hibernation or birth their young, struggling to find sustenance. The air is thick with tension, as a wretched and unforgiving storm brews still in the distance - will Eternal find reprieve from the cold?

8.4.18 Round Three of the To Lands of Old quest has been posted! The remaining participants have one week to get their posts in. Good luck and have fun!

7.27.18 Astraldune is under new leadership! In the wake of Solomon's disappearance, Helios has placed Gryffen into leadership!

6.26.18 Helios has appeared in Sunsteppe! What could he be doing there?

6.19.18 With magic from Imbris, Totem has been gifted with a daughter of her own, molded from clay and infused with a piece of her own soul. Make sure to check out the thread here!

6.1.18: Welcome to Summer!

5.26.18: The Grotto has been unveiled! Imbris paid a visit to Nymphetamine in Prismacove and led him on an underwater adventure to the Grotto, effectively creating a new sub-board for the residents of Prismacove to explore!

Ability Tier Available Slots Description
Armor Generation 2 Infinite The user can generate armor with nearly any element, creating a malleable layer of it around the user’s body. Intermediate users must first touch the element that they would like their armor to be made from (ie: wood), whereas advanced users may generate armor simply by thinking of it (ie: diamond).

At the beginner level, the user will be able to summon armor, but it will not successfully cover their body, and it will not last for very long. They must focus fairly hard on the armor element of their choosing, which will ultimately make it difficult for them to focus on anything else while attempting to protect themselves. There will be vital parts of their body that are left unprotected, though the armor will provide some protection in battle and if attacked.

At this level, the user can create armor of moderate strength, and they will get fatigued in an average amount of time. There will still be occasional gaps in their armor (predominately across the underbelly and along the lower part of their legs, where the armor can not yet reach, though their armor will generally cover the entirely of their head, neck, torso, flank and spine at the intermediate level.

At this level, the user can summon an armor will be nearly impenetrable, based on the material chosen, and they will be able to maintain it for an indefinite amount of time. Furthermore, they can fortify their particular weak points by doubling up on their element - i.e. if the character is in battle, they can summon a second layer of diamond over their shoulders to prevent devastating hits from another character (however, they cannot double up the entirety of their body armor).

Dermal Armor 3 Infinite The users has or can generate armor as a part of their body, which is resistant to attacks, harm or pain and temperature extremes. The armor varies from obvious, physical defenses, such as scales, thick skin/fur, natural shield, armor or shell, in-organic skin, etc, to bone-nodules below skin, particularly wide/sturdy rib cage, blubber, or simply dense muscle.

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
Dynamic Camouflage 3 Infinite Also known as the Chameleon Effect. The user can visually blend into surroundings by blending in with the coloration and form of their background to avoid optical perception.

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
Elemental Exoskeleton 3 Infinite
MAGNIFICENT (quarts)
The user can form armor around their body or shape it from various substances/forces for protection and physical boost. Each user may only lay claim of one element for their exoskeleton (fire, ice, etc.).

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
Elemental Immunity 3 Infinite User is immune to a particular element and related elemental forces, being completely invulnerable to direct and indirect effects.

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
Mental Immunity 3 Infinite User is immune to the effects of mind control and the like, including telepathy, hypnosis and clairvoyance - however, the user is still subject to be affected by psychokinesis.

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
Poison Immunity 3 Infinite The user is immune to all forms of poisons, toxins, and venom. The user is still prone to diseases.

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
Poison Secretion 2 Infinite User can generate, create, emit or otherwise produce poison/poisonous substance and somehow inflict the victim ─ whether through skin contact, bite, or (for advanced users) through spores that are exhaled.

At the beginner level, the user will be able to exude poison from their pores when threatened or frightened, though they will not be able to do so consciously. The poison will cause irritation, boils, and muscle tremors to those who come into contact with it, though it is not lethal at the beginner level.

At the intermediate level, the user will be able to emit poison from their skin like a treefrog, or through a bite like a snake. The poison will be moderately strong, but not lethal. It will make them tired from an average level of use, and they must make direct contact with their victim.

At the advanced level, the user can use skin to skin contact, biting, or shooting venom to attack their victim. They may also emit spores to poison their target, although after ten to fifteen feet through the air the spores will lose their effectiveness. They will not be fatigued from producing the poison, and in some cases the toxin may be lethal.

Psychokinetic Immunity 3 Infinite User is immune to psychokinetic forces, being completely invulnerable to direct and indirect effects such as being moved or harmed by another character - however, the user is still subject to be affected by other mental powers, such as telepathy and clairvoyance.

This ability is awarded at the Advanced level. No additional upgrading is required.
